Victoria Police Showband
Victoria Police Showband will be perfoming in Logan Reserve, corner Pier and Queen Street Altona on

11th February 2010 12 to 2pm

19th February 2010 5pm to 7pm

Everyone is welcome, and there is no charge.

This is a great activity to bring the whole family to.

Dorothy meets santa

Dorothy the Dinosaur Meets Santa Claus

Join everybody's favourite dinosaur when she meets the man in red from the North Pole in a brand new live show propelled by fun, beautiful music and dancing, written for the stage by Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field. 

The show of course stars Dorothy the Dinosaur - graduate of RADD (Royal Academy of Dinosaur Dancing) along with Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus. Joining them are the elves Fernie and Poppie, special guest ELF-IS and of course Santa.

The dancing will be delightful and of course the music will be full of special Christmas cheer.

Dorothy the Dinosaur Meets Santa Claus is at Altona Theatre, 115 Civic Parade, Altona on Wednesday 3rd, December at 10.00am and 12.00pm.

There are limited tickets are available so be quick. Children under the age of 12 months are free but must sit on parents lap.

Mrket fourth

Altona Beach Market 4th Birthday Celebrations.

The Altona Village Traders Assocication is celebrating the fourth birthday of the Altona Beach Market.

On tuesday 23rd September from 10.00am to 3.00 pm there will be the usual market, as well as entertainment, jumping castle, face painting, pony rides and more.

Arigato - An Exhibition

An exhibition celebrating 20 years of the sister city relationship between Hobsons Bay and Anjo in Japan .

Arigato is the Japanese word for thank you.  The exhibition is a selection of the artworks and gifts given by Anjo to Hobsons Bay City Council over the past 20 years.

Around the Bay in a Day

Around the Bay in a Day is back in Hobsons Bay on Sunday, 19th October. This annual ride, which raised over $500,000 for The Smith Family in 2007, has something for all cycling enthusiasts. Altona is the half way point for the family-friendly 50km ride so come along, relax and enjoy the entertainment before heading back over the Westgate.

Ride to Work Day Free Breakfast - 15th October

Hobsons Bay residents are encouraged to swap their cars for a bicycle on Ride to Work Day, Wednesday, 15th October, and give the environment a helping hand.

Free breakfast

To celebrate, Hobsons Bay City Council is providing a free community breakfast at Logan Reserve, Altona (Melway ref: 54 H11) from 6.30am to 8.30am. Anyone who travels sustainably is welcome to attend.

Bakers Delight and local traders will be providing baked goods, cereals, fruits and yoghurts to keep you energised on your way to work or school.

There will be plenty of spot prizes and staff from Altona’s Cycling Supermarket will be on-hand to assist.

The Westgate Bicycle Punt will also be operating on the day, making it easier for people cycling from the city to get to Altona.
